TLDR: Title says it all. I love a good cast iron bell but you just can’t beat the variety and quality the Adjustable Bell offers.
I purchased one of these adjustable bells a few years ago (8/2022) as a ‘travel companion’ and to provide me with the opportunity to pair up with the few cast iron bells I already had. Now, a few years later and after selling a 16kg bell that I wasn’t too fond of, I was looking to expand my collection again. One thought was just pick up a few more cast iron bells but then it occurred to me, for a bit more money, I could get another adjustable giving me a lot more options along side my other adjustable. Because I like the feel of Competition bell I already had, I decided it was a good option to spend a bit more but get a lot more value with another Adjustable.
First, the bell arrived in a matter of days and with no damage in shipping. Also, I didn’t notice any dust or debris in the shell or on any of the weight plates. In terms of fit and finish, it seems KK may have changed the production facility since my last purchase. While the 2 adjustable bells are identical in form, there are very minor differences in a few of the finishes. I’d say the new bell is a bit ‘cleaner’ in form, the seams appear more aligned than the first bell. It also has a powder coat versus the shinier coat of my first bell (the paint does not exist on the handle, only on the kettlebell body). The interior plates have cleaner lines and the locking nut is a bit thinner. Again, these are all minor and perhaps improvements and don’t impact the usability in the least.
One trick I’ve found with this bell is keep a 2.5lb 1” plate handy (approx. 1kg) as a spacer and incremental plate option for a 13kg option and 20kg (2,2,1kg, 4kg). You can also cut PVC pipe down for a space but I find the 2.5lb 1” plate to be used more often (20kg set up).

Seriously thinking of getting another one and selling off the old, single weight KBs! The adjustable kb are competition molded and are the way to go for both heavy cycles & WODs…it just feels better. Heard good reviews for these KBs and they did not disappoint.
I got the adjustable kettlebell because I'm going through Pavel Tsatsouline's Simple and Sinister program. The program gradually increases kettlebell weight and I wanted to save money by not having to buy each kettlebell separately, so this was the perfect solution.
